STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Perfect Pair

Finding the perfect pair of pants can be quite the difficult task. First, it’s finding the style and cut that best fits your body type. Next, it’s digging neatly (or not so neatly) through the never-ending stack of pants to retrieve your size. Finally, it’s waiting your turn for the dressing room, only to try on pants that are too long or too short. Just when you think all hope is lost, you try on that last pair of pants and it is love at first sight. The fit is flawless, the length is perfect and the piece comes in your favorite paisley pattern. You have finally found your perfect pair.

If you have not experienced this phenomenon before, eventually it will happen to you. It may seem like a troublesome process, but once you find those perfect pants, they typically come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. This makes the search for your perfect pair well worth it! For once, it is okay to treat yourself to a bit of a shopping spree and buy several pairs of your newfound favorite pants.

My encounter with love at first sight was at Ann Taylor. Ann Taylor has a particular cut and style that I love, which also comes in multiple patterns and colors. As a bonus, these pants are well made and reasonably priced, especially if you shop at an outlet mall.

This Fashionista is wearing these comfortable, yet sleek patterned pants. The basic black and white pattern can be matched with almost any solid-colored shirt. She picked a cotton, off-the-shoulder black shirt, an essential for everyone’s closet.

When picking out accessories, keep it simple. Too many accessories will cause the outfit to become chaotic due to the pattern on the pants. Tory Burch has adorable flats that complement the pants. If you want to play up the outfit for a night out, add some heels from Christian Louboutin. Personally, one of my life goals is to own a pair of Louboutins because I love the signature red on the heel. Finally, to top of the outfit, add a 1920s style necklace from Francesca’s.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Finding the perfect pants can be frustrating. Once you find the perfect pair, treat yourself to a couple.”
