STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Denim Comeback

It’s summer, it’s hot and all anyone wants to be doing is to be lying on a beach on a tropical island somewhere. Images of fruity drinks, sand stuck in your feet and bathing suit-clad people flash through your mind, I know. The last thing anyone wants to be doing is taking summer courses, much like this French-born Fashionista, who would rather be walking the streets of Paris instead of taking test after test. Staying stylish and comfortable is what’s helping her push through these tough next few months.

This Fashionista is kept comfortable in a summer essential: a navy and gray maxi dress. She paired it with red ballet flats, a black belt and an on-trend acid wash denim jacket. Not only is this outfit extremely comfortable, but it’s classy with a Parisian twist. This Fashionista brings a little bit of home back with the pop of red coming from her ballet flats. The acid wash jean jacket also adds a little bit of grunge to the outfit as well as making it laid back. It’s easy to throw on over any dress or shirt, it’s chic and it keeps you warm when the weather decides to throw you a curve ball.

Denim will never fully go out of style, for jeans are the everyday, American go-to outfit to put on, but denim is making a huge comeback from the ‘90s, and not just in terms of jeans. Whether you’re wearing a denim skirt, jacket, dress or denim overalls, you are going to be on trend and look (almost) as fabulous as Britney and Justin at the 2001 AMAs (no sarcasm there, I promise).

This Fashionista looked effortlessly chic in a matter of minutes. By throwing on this chic ensemble, she had a classy and comfortable outfit while being able to get out of bed 15 minutes before her 8:00 a.m. class.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Being comfortable is key for me. I like to look cute and put together, but comfortable at the same time. A denim jacket does both of those for me, and it’s one of my favorite pieces in my closet because you can dress it up or down.”
