STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Summer Sweater Weather

Style Advice of the Week

Growing up near the Jersey Shore has made me love the tradition of renting a beach house with my family every summer. The nights tend to get chilly and breezy so I always make sure I pack a light summer sweater. This Fashionista shows you how to style the perfect summer sweater from day to night.

This Fashionista’s outfit is perfect for a day or night at the beach because of the lightweight sweater, cut-off jean shorts and sandals. This look can go straight from dinner to a bonfire on the beach. I like how this Fashionista styles her sweater off one shoulder because it gives the outfit a boho-chic vibe. To dress this ensemble up for dinner, she wore a flower statement necklace, giving everything a much dressier feel. The bright mint color gives this outfit a fresh, summery look. Brandy Melville has a ton of beachy sweaters that are perfect for cool summer nights.

Pullovers aren’t the only type of sweaters that work for the summer. Cardigans look great layered with a crop top, high-waisted shorts and a pair of combat boots. Oversized cardigans are perfect for festival season. This summer is about bringing back the trends of the ’90s. So hang on to those flannels, shrug sweaters, high-waisted shorts and choker necklaces because this is going to be a sweet and sunny ride.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Light sweaters are great for the summer because they’re comfortable and cozy for more casual nights. They’re easy to dress up with a necklace, jeans and wedges, or they can be kept casual with shorts and flip flops.”
