STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Persuede Me With Fringe

During the long, cold winter months, picking out outfits can become challenging, especially with the unpredictable weather. With the weather always changing, a popular trend that has grown exponentially within the fall and winter season is the use of suede and fringe. Suede can be designed in multiple ways such as draping, pleating, gathering and fluting. In addition to this, it has become a favorite fabric to use amongst fashion designers in the industry. As of lately, the popularity of this specific trend has only skyrocketed, resulting in the fashion industry embracing a new ’70s bohemian style.

Many predications have already been made for the upcoming fall 2016 collections, which have include flared jeans, wide leg pants and, of course, fringe pieces. Also, according to Glamour magazine, fall 2015’s most versatile trend is the suede skirt. It has been considered to be one of the favorite ’70s-inspired pieces for last year’s fall season. The look has even held on to its popularity and continues to be a hot item for 2016 for not only fall and winter, but spring as well.

So how does one utilize the suede and fringe trend? Check out this Fashionista’s look. She styled a simple, black long sleeve shirt with a statement necklace that she obtained from Target. She also purchased her suede skirt from the local Fashion School Store located in downtown Kent, Ohio. She paired the skirt with simple, black knee-high boots and an additional touch of fringe with her cross-body bag from the local Figleaf boutique. The combination of this look definitely showcases the ’70s bohemian style that is all the rage in today’s fashion world.
