STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Monochromatic Mood

Monochromatic dressing is super simple and looks oh so chic! Fashionista/o, have you incorporated this major trend in your style? I remember when wearing one color was a big no-no; it was just something you didn’t do in fashion. And some of you still may think so, but this trend is hot and happening! Monochromatic outfits are popping up full force on the streets. So why is the monochromatic mix so popular? Monochromatic dressing definitely offers visual relief from the more frenzied trends of past seasons. No matter your shape or style, monochromatic outfits always look sharp and polished. When dressing monochromatically, your outfit has one uninterrupted line from head to toe that elongates your silhouette, making you appear slimmer and taller than you actually are. I don’t know about you, but this is my incentive to try out this trend!

This Fashionista is rocking 50 shades of black in her look (not literally). The color black is timeless, classic and flattering. You can wear black at any time. You can weather it at any age, and for almost any occasion. It’s the color that will never go out of style. She is wearing a long sleeve black dress with a belt with metal accents, which gives her body shape and instills a sense of femininity in her look. Since it’s still a bit chilly outside to keep warm, she pairs opaque tights with stylish wedge, felt textured, over-the-knee boots. To play with color hues and texture, she adds a gray and black fringe vest. This Fashionista then accessorizes her look with a satchel and black and gold arm candy.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “One-color looks, don’t be afraid to experiment with different hues.”
