STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Kimono Kraze

In stores across the country, shorts are being swapped out for pants and bikinis are making their way to the clearance rack. The preparation for fall is in full swing, and the transition is looming over you and your wardrobe. Picking pieces that work for both seasons—both summer and fall—during this tricky transitional period is key. You don’t want to waste your money on any more summer clothes, but at the same time you want to take advantage of summer clearance events. By picking pieces that suit both seasons, you’ll come out ahead of the game. Kimonos are the answer to satisfy both of these needs.

Fall is all about layering, and this Fashionista accomplished just that. Her printed, fringe kimono is the perfect piece to wear in summer and transition into fall. With her simple white crop tank, coin statement necklace, ripped high-waisted shorts and sandals, she maintains a summery look. The crisp white against the cobalt blue provides the ideal contrast for featuring the kimono in the look. The necklace is the perfect boho detail to balance out the mod printed kimono. Keeping it simple with matching shoes and a practical cross-body bag made the outfit cohesive and the other elements harmonious rather than competing for attention.

By swapping out the shorts for jeans and the top for a basic long sleeve scoop neck and some cute booties, the kimono becomes a transitioning piece to build a fall outfit off of.

All in all, kimonos have gained popularity because of their chic, comfortable, durable and versatile nature. Score a kimono in a summer clearance event and transition it to the upcoming fall season and many more fall seasons to come.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “This fall season, focus on incorporating new pieces into your wardrobe. I think we often get stuck in the same fashion ruts with our favorite go-to colors and pieces, but it’s fun to venture out of that fashion comfort zone bubble once and awhile for a killer look!”
