STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keepin’ It Comfy

Based off my addiction to Pinterest, I have noticed many recurring pins involving outfits with Converse shoes (specifically in white). I’ve seen both high-top and low-top versions of the shoe, and after going out and looking around Chicago, it was very apparent that white Converse are becoming a staple in young women’s wardrobes.

Converse have always been a classic shoe that don’t seem to go out of style, but the shoe seems to have its peaks in fashion. The main thing I noticed was that Converse in the color white were the most popular. Have I mentioned white Converse yet?

I was actually walking around with my sister, who was wearing white Converse, when we ran into two of her friends from school. All three of them were wearing white, low-top Converse. I didn’t know if it was something that was just big at her school, or if it was a shared trend by many.

I happened to come across this Fashionista that was sporting the shoes as well. The outfit was very simple, yet something I wanted to own immediately. The neutral color combination was very appealing to me. After talking with the Fashionista for a bit, she pointed out that she likes to dress cute but also practically. I couldn’t agree more. When you hear someone tell you to dress comfy and dress for the weather, you automatically think of wearing gym shoes, jeans and a sweater or something similar. That actually is what this Fashionista was wearing, but these pieces were pulled together to make a very fashionable outfit. The jeans were not your regular denim. They were a little worn and cuffed on the bottom. The sweater was layered over a plain white T-shirt, but the bag, sunglasses and jewelry made the outfit look more fashion-forward. The shoes, of course, were right on-trend as they are white Converse. They are cute, comfy and practical. I don’t think a girl could ask for a better staple item.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Dress for the weather, and stay comfy.”
