STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Get in the Swing of Spring

The spring semester is in full swing and to us Chicagoans, that means cold. A lot of the time, I have to admit, I will compromise an outfit with efforts to stay warm and not worry about getting frostbite. Winters in Chicago are no joking matter and walking to class can feel like walking in zero degree weather naked if you do not have the right layers on.

Luckily, this Fashionista knows how to do it right! To combat the weather she rocks a boxy long sleeve sweater with a long jacket with faux fur lining. She admits on an even colder day she will often double up her layers by putting on her The North Face parka over her jacket. She wears a high-waisted classic denim and pairs it with suede booties to give it a little more edge.

The best part about dressing in layers is when you get hot you can take one off. This outfit can look greater with less layers if she paired her boxy long sleeve sweater, high-waisted denim and cute booties together.

Want this look? Me too! It is so versatile for the wonderful winter weather we face here in Chicago.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?  “I highly recommend investing in pieces that can be worn for two spring weather occasions. In Chicago, the weather is crazy so I never know when the weather is going to be warm or cold. Especially during spring. Layers are great but work nicely when they can also be removed.”
