STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Cute And Comfortable

July 24th, 2015 at 2:00am

Every day while getting dressed, you’re faced with the age old question: is your outfit going to be cute or comfortable today? It feels like you have to choose either style or comfort, sacrificing one for the other. This can make choosing an outfit a bit of a stressful ordeal. Luckily, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to sacrifice comfort or style when getting dressed. All you need is a cute and comfy dress.

Despite their rep for being the most formal clothing item, dresses can also be one of easiest pieces to wear. It’s only one piece, so you don’t need to stress over pairing a top to a bottom. Many dresses are actually surprisingly comfortable, making it that much easier to slip on and go through your day.

There are a couple key things to look for in a comfortable dress. First of all, the fit is important. You don’t want anything too tight—he looser the dress, the better! Second of all, you need to consider the fabric. Anything structured or stiff will be uncomfortable, while something sheer will require more than one layer. A dress made out of material that’s too thick or heavy might weigh you down. Cotton or rayon are good materials for a comfortable dress.

You can easily spice up a dress like this by pairing it with some to-die-for accessories. This hat, for example, is a showstopper on its own. Pair it with a basic dress and you’ve got a statement look. Try a cute watch if you want a more practical accessory.
