STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Black and Blue All Over

Ever since I was a little girl I was always taught that you simply never pair blue and black together. I mean, God-forbid. It’s just not something you do. However, if there is one thing we can learn from fashion, it’s that the rules are put in place simply so we can break them… and that is exactly what this Fashionista did.

Normally, it can be a bit tough to pair these two colors without looking like a giant bruise. However, this Fashionista did it quite nicely. She wore a pair of plain black cut-off pants and paired that with a simple blue V-neck T-shirt. Over this, she paired a speckled blue cardigan which tied in the pants and V-neck together nicely. For shoes she wore a pair of black canvas TOMS. These four items together keep her outfit rather neutral, so she decided to add some accessories! To make her outfit stand out she added a tan fedora and a long chain owl necklace. Last but not least, her look needed one thing— a pop of color.

When I ran into this Fashionista, she’s was just leaving the nail salon with a beautiful red polish freshly painted. She also had her ring finger painted a shimmery gold as an accent nail. This flashy nail polish serves as the perfect pop of color for this all black and blue outfit.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Try to dress in all-black and blue. Keep your clothing dark, and then somewhere in your outfit have an accessory to bring a pop of color. This accessory could be anything from a belt, to a bracelet, to a nail polish job!”
