STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: All-White Everything

It’s that glorious time of year again: that long-awaited, three-month period of time when it’s socially acceptable to whip out our favorite pair of white pants! Oh yeah, I guess you could call it summer, but nonetheless, beware of spilled ketchup and melting popsicles.

We are all asking the same question—how did “no white after Labor Day” become the norm? Well, no one can really confirm when this became an unwritten rule, but it’s known that old money women established this rule to separate themselves from the new money youngsters who were trying to rule society after the Civil War. But don’t fret, white jeans are now a fabulous summer staple that everyone is allowed to wear and needs to have in their closet.

This Fashionista made a bold move going “all-white everything” (thanks, Young Jeezy) and rocked it. She chose the perfect pair of white jeans that made her and her wallet smile. Rolling up the hem of your jeans can make any pair of pants a little more summery and can help show off your accessories all the way down to your toes. This Fashionista kept with the trend of her outfit and wore some simple T-strap sandals. Throwing in pops of color is critical when sporting a pair of white jeans. Adding tiny, colorful accessories in unexpected places, just like this Pura Vida anklet, is a great way to accessorize without detracting from the details in the rest of an ensemble.

Since white jeans are fairly plain, it’s always smart to pair them with some more detailed pieces, just like this floral tank top. The fabric flowers on this tank top really add some wow factor to this outfit, without making this look too loud or bold. Another great piece in this outfit is this Fashionista’s denim jacket, yet another perfect summer staple for all. The denim adds some more texture and dimension to this otherwise plain outfit and is just an all around great piece to keep in you closet.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid to wear all one color! I always used to think I couldn’t wear a blue top with blue jeans, but whether it be white, black, blue, whatever—the monochromatic look is one that can look really cool if styled the right way.”
