FASHION FROM ABROAD: Dressing Smart

Fashion From Abroad

Brits have a knack for always looking stylish no matter what they’re up to. It’s called dressing “smart.” Dressing smart means you look put together while still expressing your personal style. Many businesses ask that you dress smart casual for work, meaning you look respectable but not stuffy in a suit and tie. It appears that Londoners have adopted this smart casual look into their everyday lives, too.

For some smart casual inspiration, check out this Fashionisto’s monochromatic look. The monochromatic trend, or wearing different shades of the same color, is a great way for Fashionistos/as to wear a lot of color without it looking too loud. Although blue isn’t really an overwhelming color in this first place, this Fashionisto took advantage of the monochromatic trend to show off his blue Aztec print shirt from Topman. Instead of pairing the T-shirt with a pair of jeans, this Fashionisto chose a pair of navy faded chinos courtesy of Primark. In order to create a more tailored look, this Fashionisto employed one of my favorite tactics: cuffing. Cuffing the bottoms of your pants also allows you to show off your shoes, which were definitely important in this Fashionisto’s look.

To complete his monochromatic look, this Fashionisto rocked a pair of navy suede boots also courtesy of Primark. Colored shoes can add that extra stylish touch to your outfit. Shoes have become another way to express yourself and with all the creative options out there, you can be as expressive as you like.
