BEAUTY BAR: The Posh Pony

The ponytail: A simple, effortless hairstyle for a pulled back look. Not only that, but it is the perfect way to keep your unruly hair out of your face and still look put together. During summer months it is common to throw your hair up to keep it from getting frizzy, but the ponytail can also be used to pull your hair back for a sleek, more professional and put together look. As common as this hair-do is, it is a trend that is hotter than ever right now because of a few added steps!

All it takes is an extra minute or two to add some flare to your ponytail. One of the easiest ways to do this is to add a braid, whether it be a standard braid or a fishtail braid, and that’s exactly what this Fashionista did! Wearing your hair up in a ponytail can look plain and not very exciting, but just follow the steps taken by this Fashionista, and you can achieve a similar look.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To create this look, you need bobby pins, hair elastics, hairspray and a teasing brush. The teasing brush has a dual use to smooth out the fly aways and to give your pony a little height and texture! Make sure to leave a small section of hair out when you create your ponytail for the braided accent that you will wrap around the base. Another tip is to insert bobby pins as you wrap the braid around your ponytail rather than after the full braid has been wrapped around. This will ensure that the braid stays secure.
