BEAUTY BAR: Pretty in Pink

For many people, summer is a season of change. School is out (and so is the sun) and it gives us a chance to experiment with our looks. Personally, I think summer is the best time of year to change your hair color or length. If you don’t particularly love it, it’s okay! The only people who will see it are your close friends and possibly your boss at the local ice cream parlor. Even so, who are they to judge? Here’s a little advice: you are who you are—you don’t need anyone else’s approval.

With that in mind, this Fashionista is the queen of pastels. She looks fabulous. After taking her photos, I found out that she had always wanted to dye her hair a pastel color, and college was her gateway. She was previously a brunette—then she transitioned into a blonde, which led to purple and now pastel pink. This Fashionista’s look works so well because it is a way for her to express herself.

Can we all just take a moment to admire the fact that her outfit matches her hair perfectly? Her lavender shirt complements the pink shimmer in her hair, and her kimono has little pops of pink throughout the floral pattern. I love her white wrap mini skirt—the checked material adds a sporty texture to the outfit. Her bold Wildfox sunglasses are the perfect accessory on a sunny day.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: This Fashionista used to dye her own hair, but figured it would be better to leave it up to the professionals at the Aveda Institute New York. However, to those who choose to DIY at home, she recommends using Ion dye. To achieve this color, go for the demi permanent creme in Smoky Pink. As for the makeup, keep it simple to let your hair do the talking. Good luck!
