BEAUTY BAR: How To Nail Any Look

One thing that I’ve always been known for is having my nails painted. Before I went to college, my mom and I would go get our nails done every two weeks or so. A visit to the nail salon always helped me destress, gather my thoughts and get in a good mood. As a college student on a budget I don’t make it to the nail salon as often as I used to, but I think that makes me appreciate the benefits of a manicure even more.

During the holidays it can be very difficult to figure out what to wear to the various parties and events that we must go to. I always struggle with adding finishing touches to make my ensembles festive and fun. Lately, I’ve figured out that one of the easiest things to do is have a festive manicure. You get bonus points if you coordinate the color with everything else you’re wearing, like our Fashionista did!

When it comes to getting the most out of your manicure, I have a few tips that’ll help your nails make your outfit pop. I generally get a gel manicure because I believe it is totally worth it. Your manicure will last at least two weeks without chipping! When you’re a mess, like me, durable manicures are a must. The next tip I have is to try and stay on the neutral side when you pick your color especially if you’re making a long-term decision with gel polish. I usually choose a nude, white, or black polish and add a glitter top coat for an extra pop. However, choosing a color that will complement a specific outfit or season is a great idea! I like the festive route that this Fashionista went when she chose a pretty maroon polish that accented her velvet skirt.

Our Fashionista paired a simple key hole detailed black top, maroon velvet skirt and sleek black tights with adorable booties. To finish off the look she wore a black choker, delicate silver jewelry, and a beautiful black bag. This look is perfect for any holiday get together that you may have.

If you’re ever in doubt when getting ready this holiday season, just remember that a manicure is one of the easiest ways to polish a look.
