BEAUTY BAR: Highlight Craze

Every girl who has been involved in the fashion and beauty industry knows about the latest craze: highlighting. Highlighting has become a necessary component of every girl’s beauty regime, and has even become a common technique used by people all around the world. It doesn’t showing any signs of stopping.

What makes this technique so popular is that it makes the wearer appear more awake. A lot of girls find themselves extremely tired during those early summer mornings before heading into the office for an internship or attending a summer class. By implementing the highlighting technique, girls are able to put on less makeup while still appearing more awake—it’s a simple solution for girls who want to have a pulled together look without the sacrifice of waking up thirty minutes earlier to put on a full face of makeup.

This Fashionista shows why highlighting is a technique you need to add to your everyday makeup routine. She set the tone for a natural day look by implementing highlighting using L’Oréal true match foundation for her base, followed by lightly added Mary-Lou Manizer powder on top. She then began to implement the highlight technique to give that fresh, natural and awake look: She used Benefit Cosmetics Watts Up Creamy Texture Base on five main areas which included the tops of her cheekbones, the inner corner of her eyes, below her eyebrows, the tip of her nose and her cupid’s bow. Using a Morphe Fan Brush, she then blended the Benefit highlight base into each of the five main areas until she got her desired result.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: This look is super simple to recreate. You don’t even have to use the exact products she used, as everyone has different skin types and tones! You can use your normal, everyday foundation, the powder that works best for your skin type and whatever highlighter you believe complements your skin tone the bestJust let yourself shine.
