BEAUTY BAR: Eye Glow, We Glow

A new makeup trend taking over the runways is fresh and clean makeup. Keeping your makeup light is great because it can allow your skin to breathe. Plus, a fresh face makes you look awake and enables your natural beauty to shine through. This Fashionista executed her minimal makeup flawlessly. Her secret is to focus on one facial element when going for a “no makeup” makeup look. For this style, she wanted to bring a subtle highlight to her eyelids to so that her eyes would be center stage.

We have all heard about using a white eye shadow in the inner corners of our eyes to revitalize our makeup. This trick is great especially for those long summer nights and can it can give the illusion that you’ve had a full night’s rest. But what about applying that white eye shadow all across the lid of your eye? Your eyes get an instant glow! That is exactly what our Fashionista did for her easy makeup look.

First apply a shimmery white or beige eye shadow all across the lid and place a little white eye shadow in the corner of your eyes. When the sun bounces off the eye shadow, it will give you even more of a highlight and shine to your eyes. To add depth, go back in to your crease with a gray or brown eye shadow and blend so that the transition between the lid and crease color is seamless. Add, a subtle rose-hued blush like NYX’s cream blush in Tea Rose and a natural lip color like Revlon’s Rose Velvet lipstick. Finish off the look with your favorite mascara and your subtle makeup look is complete.

One last tip for this look is to keep is fresh with a dewy setting spray. It is going to make your face look moisturized and newly cleansed which perfect for a “no makeup” makeup look.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR?  Try your hand at this look using the cult classic Urban Decay Naked Palette. For the lid color use something like Virgin, a beige color with a slight shimmer. In the crease, Gunmetal is perfect because it is a soft metallic grey that will increase the dimension of the eye look.
