BEAUTY BAR: A Pouty Pop

Dressing for a morning of classes or a day at your internship can get pretty tiresome. I’m sure everyone can agree that getting ready to go out with your friends on a Friday night is usually even more exciting than the night itself. However, when you have to confine your fashion decisions to what will be appropriate at the office or in front of your professors, choosing an outfit can often become a nuisance.

This Fashionista sports the perfect look for an afternoon of interning at a local business, but make sure to check the dress code at your office to make sure your look is appropriate. She explained to me that tank tops are totally acceptable at her company, but they may not be at other organizations, so it’s better to be safe than sorry.

This Fashionista chose to keep her ensemble pretty simple, and focused on making her makeup pop. While an all-black get up can sometimes seem boring or mundane, adding a bright lip color can really make a statement. It instantly brings her outfit from plain to chic, and it doesn’t actually require much additional effort or thought.

I usually only think of wearing bright lip colors at night, but when done in the right way, they can be a really fun way to spice up your makeup for the day time. And not to mention, they can also spice up all your basic outfits, so dressing for your internship doesn’t have to be a chore. The key is to keep the rest of your makeup relatively simple to avoid looking overdone or clown-like. This Fashionista added mascara and a light layer of bronzer, and that was about it. She looks chic and put together, but not like she’s headed to the club.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To get this fiery Fashionista’s makeup look, all you’ll need is a bright colored lipstick, an awesome lengthening mascara and a light shimmery bronzer!
