I think we’ve all had that moment where we have that one accessory that we’re dying to wear, but can’t find an outfit to go along with it. I know for me, it has always been some sort of hat or hairpiece. Something about a cute headband and statement piece always makes me feel put together when I leave my house in the morning. I usually pair mine with my worn out black jeans and a graphic T-shirt. But now that it is summer I will probably upgrade to that new baby blue romper that has been hanging in my closet for far too long. Accessories tie together any and every outfit, without them your outfit is most likely incomplete.
This week’s Fashionista found a great way to show off her new gladiator sandals by keeping it simple. Why put on an extravagant outfit and draw attention away from your favorite part of your outfit? Wearing a bold red casual dress, this Fashionista was able to wear something that was breezy and comfortable on a hot summer’s day without being overly hot and irritated. In addition to the dress, she accented her shoes with her everyday Louis Vuitton shoulder bag. I don’t know about you, but I dream of carrying that bag on my arm like it’s my job. Her jewelry was kept to a minimum, a thin-chained sorority necklace and a watch on her wrist. The final touch to her summer look was her sunglasses. A must-have addition to block those harsh summer rays.
I know what you’re probably thinking — tan gladiators? I know that because that was my first impression of these miraculous sandals. It took me about 20 seconds to look at these shoes and fall completely in love. It’s about time someone took it to the next level and found a new color to tie into the mix. Of course, I am not knocking black gladiator sandals, especially because they are one of my favorite go-to pair of shoes. Nonetheless, it’s nice to see this Fashionista stepping out of the ordinary box and being a trendsetter. A pair of gladiator sandals is the perfect way to transform an ordinary outfit in to a fashion statement.
