ALL IN THE DETAILS: Metropolitan Metallics

Tinsel and shine! If you have been scoping street style blogs and pictures from runway shows, it’s apparent that metallics are a must for this season. Metallics are the breath of fresh air to your winter wardrobe. This trend reminds me of my aesthetic crush for the movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. I’m obsessed with the incorporation of metallics in everyday wear, space age colors, and platform boots. However, you don’t have to live on a spaceship to wear this latest trend! You can style metallics to be bold and dramatic, or you can style it to be simple and elegant. Though this trend can be intimidating for the Fashionistas who prefer a more subdued look, you can confidently incorporate this trend into your wardrobe, like this Fashionista.

This Fashionista’s outfit is perfect example of how to wear metallic casually during the day for looking stylish in class and for coffee dates. This Fashionista has a classic and chic outfit, but with a surprise of shine along the cuffs of her Parisian styled zip-up sweater. Her metallic cuffs on her zip up sweater makes her outfit more daring, but she tones it down with solid colors and light patterns. This Fashionista made her zip-up the focal point of her outfit and paired everything else with colors of the small patterns on it. Choosing to match parts of your outfit with small colors and details makes it more streamlined and cohesive. Her boho-inspired scarf and the brown boots gives the outfit a cozy, daytime feel. The green jumpsuit she is wearing is eye catching, but yet no too flashy. Also, adding a fun pair of shades (because it’s always sunny in Charleston) makes her outfit a little more playful. This Fashionista’s outfit just screams effortlessly chic!

This metallic trend is a fun way to spice up your outfit rotation. Add a little or add a lot of metallic to make your outfit pop!
