WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

Whether it’s summer time or school time, one thing never changes and that’s the weekend. The weekend: a time to relax and wind down from your busy week of studying, working and getting coffee for people in higher positions than yourself (all before the Sunday night rush to get your Monday morning assignments in). Friday and Saturday nights are reserved for you. If you’re like me than you like to take that time to find yourself and get comfortable with some tea and Netflix or a good book and only go out occasionally. But, when you do go out, you want to look fabulous! This post is dedicated to all you Fashionistas who want to look your best this upcoming weekend.

I found this Fashionista grabbing a Starbucks before going to catch her train into the city for a night out on the town with some friends. What caught my eye initially were her gorgeous nude heels. Something about a woman’s shoes always draws my attention before anything else does. Her weekend attire consisted of a classic black pencil skirt with a matching black crop top. She topped that off with a thin olive colored green blazer and accessorized with a layered gold necklace. This form fitting black outfit compliments her figure stunningly, while also showing minimal midriff area and no cleavage whatsoever. She looks sophisticated; yet “party ready” at the same time. To finish off her look she added on her favorite nude heels and grabbed her Calvin Klein bag.

If I had to describe this look in one word, I would have to choose mature. This Fashionista was able to obtain her sexy look while also looking appropriate. She didn’t abandon her credibility or progress in the work place while going out to have fun with her friends and certainly didn’t lower her standards for looking great during her weekend festivities.

One Simple Change: This look can double perfectly when being worn for a celebration, like your best friends 21st birthday! Simply change your shoe color to a more festive shade, like royal blue for example, and lose the purse and blazer and grab a clutch. You’ll keep that sophistication level while also adding in a little more eye-popping color and fun.
