WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

July 3rd, 2015 at 2:00am

Weekends are the absolute best time of summer. For those of us who work and take classes, whether they be online or on campus, the weekend sometimes seems like our only getaway. We like to make the most of it, and those gearing up to leave for summer session in college are savoring their last days of summer. In sunny South Florida we usually spend our free days going to the beach, window shopping in boutiques and grabbing a bite to eat for lunch. It is hot and sunny nearly year round, but especially during these summer months, which means that we have to balance keeping cool but and looking cute. Usually, we have denim shorts and airy tops as staples in our summer wardrobe, and this Fashionista was no exception.

While enjoying her last weekend before summer classes, she sported light wash distressed, high-waisted shorts. They are a must-have for any Fashionista’s summer wardrobe, and are very versatile. Whether she is off to class, running some errands, seeing a movie or going out with friends, these shorts can be styled in a ton of different ways and be dressed up or down. She paired the cut-offs with a black tank top, which she tucked in with a long sleeve black sheer knit top. Normally, long sleeves are way too hot for summer weather, but this top is light and airy. She kept the shoes simple and slipped on a pair of black Tory Burch sandals. It is perfect for running errands or being out and about on the weekends, and just goes to show that you totally can wear black during the summer.

One Simple Change: Spending the day running errands and doing some shopping, but meeting the girls for drinks and dinner later? Luckily, this outfit can transform from daytime weekend wear to girls night out in a snap. Simply swap out the sandals for lace up high-heeled booties and add a trendy statement necklace and a few bangles. Lipstick makes a big statement and all the difference, so add some red lipstick along with black eyeliner to finish off this glam girls night out look.
