Summer is here and with that comes an abundance of long holiday weekends. Depending on the occasion, you want to be comfortable in your apparel. You might be traveling to see friends and family, having a cookout or attending a parade to celebrate the day! And since it’s summer finding that perfect balance of clothing to keep you cool in the heat can be a real chore. I know I always have a hard time figuring out what to wear, but this Fashionista I came across on the parade route this past Memorial Day Weekend had the equation figured out.
Ready for the holiday weekend, this Fashionista is bringing the ’90s back to Ohio State’s campus. Overalls were a staple of the decade, making a huge comeback for those of us over the age of five and these from Topshop are the perfect pair. A plain gray T-shirt layered underneath was perfect for keeping it casual and comfortable while sitting around watching the parade. Getting to the parade route or your final destination of the day can include a bit of walking, so a pair of Birkenstocks are the comfy compliment to complete this ensemble. And to, literally, top it all off, a baseball cap with a little Floridian personality although any kind would suffice for the occasion. This Fashionista is ready to watch the parade with style in tow!
One Simple Change: Going from a family cookout to a night out on the town with friends? Simply switch the plain T-shirt for an off the shoulder blouse and the Birkenstocks for a gladiator sandal or cute pair of flats. This way the overalls will be more dressed up for your night in city.
