WHAT TO WEAR: Vacation

Everyone knows that a pair of white shorts is a staple for any summer wardrobe, and for those that follow the Labor Day rule, summer is the only time to really take advantage of wearing the color. So let’s take it one step further and rock some all white ensembles before the days get shorter and our wardrobes get darker.

To me, the beach symbolizes a lot of things: ice cream cones, boardwalk nights, salty air and of course long days spent laying out on the sand, doing nothing but relaxing. A day at the beach is the perfect time to practice a more carefree way of dressing, and what’s more simple and easy than all-white? Throwing on that favorite pair of shorts and a knit tank top eliminates the need to spend any precious vacation time standing in front of your closet debating what to wear.

The best thing about white is its versatility. One of the first things we learn when beginning to dress ourselves is that white goes with everything, and it looks good on anything. A romper or jumpsuit in white would be perfect for a day of doing nothing, as well as a shirt and skirt set. Your white graduation dress can even turn into the perfect summer outfit. When you start with white, it’s easy to add accessories and make the look your own, without spending much time planning.

This Fashionista is showing off her summer glow with white cut-offs and a loose knit top. She added some natural tones with brown sandals and a brown leather bag. A jade bracelet is her only prominent jewelry, adding to the simplicity of the look. To keep herself cool, she threw her hair in a top knot and added a black headband.

One Simple Change: By switching out her sandals for a pair of high heels, this Fashionista would be ready for a night out in no time at all.
