WHAT TO WEAR: Traveling

Packing for a long trip is always such a hassle. I am a notorious packrat and I always find myself regretting packing that second pair of booties while trying to lug my suitcase off of the baggage carousel. Tis the life of a Fashionista. I had this very struggle while packing for a class trip to Italy. As an Italian and a Style Guru, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to steal some style advice from the women in the area. No one can pull off the clean and modest look like an Italian woman.

If you’re stuck between checking an extra bag full of clothes that you might wear or dressing like a tourist, look to this Fashionista for advice. She successfully navigated the thin line between dressing for comfort and for style. Every part of her outfit doubles as both practical and stylish. Here, she is wearing a jersey knit black and white floral dress with comfortable sandals. The whimsical pattern on the dress is complemented nicely by the structure of her denim jacket.

She uses a small cross-body bag to hold her essentials and completes the look with light aviator-style sunglasses. The mix of textures and clean edges utilized by this Fashionista work very well together to create a classic, well-rounded outfit. Sundresses are the perfect garments to bring on a trip because they take up minimal space and require no maintenance. They are comfortable enough that you can wear them while walking and taking public transportation without worrying about having to adjust them. Not to mention, Italian women wear the best sundresses. All in all, this Fashionista hit the bullseye with this outfit.

One Simple Change: To take this outfit from casual traveler to a night out on the town, lose the sandals and add some wedges and a layered necklace.
