WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

When I think of summer, I think of a fresh, new start like how it’s said in this quote from The Great Gatsby: “And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”  There is beauty in the impermanence of life. Days quickly turn to night, flowers fall from the blossomed trees and leaves turn brown. We must appreciate the fact that nothing lasts forever in order for us to treasure what we have. Sometimes we become so accustomed to our daily routines that we forget to go outside and enjoy the lovely sunshine, trees and flowers we often pass by without a second glance.

Now that it’s summer, it’s time to enjoy nature, relax and get away! Are you going somewhere fun? Looking for a risk to take or something to venture out with? You’re in luck. Summertime means you can get away with putting flowers in your hair! Put on a maxi skirt, crop top and high heeled wedges if you want to be perfectly dressed for a walk at a park, blue lake or the beach boardwalk.

This Fashionista has a super feminine style that gives off a modern day goddess appeal. Her maxi skirt is a light mint green, which looks so refreshing paired with her white crop top and wedges. This outfit would be great for a summer date as well — sitting at the beach, toes in the sand and singing along to the guitar with a significant other. It’s a versatile look that could work for different occasions as it has a multitude of looks to it; the flowers are romantic, but also hippie-like, while the skirt looks flowy like water, giving off a very calm and relaxed appeal.

You can easily get this Fashionista’s look, but can you rock it like she does? Guess you’ll just have to be bold enough to try it out!

One Simple Change: Swap the casual crop top with something more formal such as this pleated flutter sleeve fitted tee. Add a cute crossbody purse to carry, and the look is complete for a dinner date by the shore.
