WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

Summertime gives you the ultimate color schemes, from the vibrant red of fresh picked strawberries to the gray swirl of storm clouds bringing the afternoon thunderstorm to cool things off.  Here in Maryland, no color says summer like the burnt orange of steamed blue crabs smothered in Old Bay.
The colors produced in summer by nature or with little help from some steam (like blue crabs!) are perfect for any occasion.  Ditch the winter black.  Tan and gray are the perfect neutral. Bring the color of summer and pair with your neutrals by adding pops of color to your everyday look or go bold and commit to that summer color!  Going to the beach is an everyday thing for me and having a ton of perfect cover-ups to wear to and from the beach and to a late lunch or happy hour with friends is crucial!
One of my favorites is this Free People burnt orange cover-up with ruffle accents. It can easily be worn over a bikini to the beach or wherever the rest of your day takes you!
Dressing for summer in Ocean City is easy when everyday consists of a cute bikini and suntan lotion!  Having casual cover-ups and sundresses makes going from the beach to hanging out with your friends easy and you always look casual and sun kissed without putting a lot of effort into your look. Adding a strappy sandal like this Fashionista to a sundress and beach tote can make your outfit ready for your summer adventures when you leave the beach!
One Simple Change: If you want to take this perfect simple cover-up look out with friends at night, try adding jean shorts and booties to make your cover-up a little less casual! The perfect day to night look!
