WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

Hello summer! Temperatures are rising and that means it is time to ditch the long sleeves. Summer fashion is all about embracing the tropical vibe, but that doesn’t mean you should lose your edgy sense of style.

I spotted this Fashionisto hanging around campus.  He was wearing a trendy summer outfit while sporting unique accessories that brought out his personal style. I couldn’t help but notice the very ’90s-inspired puka shell necklace paired along with a bandana around the head. The necklace adds a beach feel, while the bandana gives the outfit an edgy kick. I would’ve never attempted to try out this contrasting combination for summer, but this daring Fashionisto pulled it off seamlessly. Adding some grunge to his outfit, he wore a white tank top with a faux black leather pocket. Tank tops are essential pieces to have in mind when picking out a summer outfit. This hot weather definitely requires minimum arm coverage. Tank tops are a very simple and easy piece to wear with pants or shorts. This Fashionisto decided to go for dark skinny jeans and rolled them up for an extra touch. Finishing off the outfit, he wore denim textured loafers. The texture of his shoes balanced off the grungy pieces in his outfit, allowing this outfit to maintain its summer feel. Not only that, slip on shoes are a huge summer trend that keep any outfit looking casual and classic.

One Simple Change: If you are caught running late for a date night, this outfit can easily fit the occasion if paired with a black bomber jacket. The dark hue of the bomber will easily dress up the casual outfit and pair great with the grunge inspired pieces. Because it is hot out, a leather jacket might not feel as comfortable. The thin fabric of bomber jackets lets them feel airy when worn. Plus, you’re wearing a tank top underneath; if it suddenly gets chilly outside, you’re covered.
