WHAT TO WEAR: Summer

June 29th, 2015 at 2:00am

The summer is heating up and the planning for various summer occasions has begun. While local events are entertaining, the care free summer vibes set in much more when we take road trips across the country to listen to our favorite bands or to see some exotic sights. With that being said, it is time to scan our wardrobes for the most comfortable yet festive looks for any planned or last minute summer occasion.

I caught this Fashionista in the pouring rain packing up her Jeep for a road trip of her own. She is adapting to the heat by wearing mid-rise denim shorts with destroyed detailing from Urban Outfitters styled with a black Free People bralette. In addition to such simple pieces of her wardrobe she adds some festivity by draping a patterned kimono from her arms while also making a creative statement with a unique necklace found at a local boutique. Although we can always count on our local boutiques for intriguing finds, she found the perfect sandals for any summer occasion from Steve Madden’s newest line.

In order to survive the upcoming summer occasions whether that be music festivals or spontaneous road trips not much accessory should be worn unless it is flexible, which is why this festive Fashionista’s look is completed with a simple braid and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

One Simple Change: If you’re attending a more formal summer event but still want the festive detail in your look, just try switching out the denim shorts with black high-waisted shorts that are made with a softer and lighter material that flow.
