WHAT TO WEAR: Presentation

Although the quarter/semester has barely begun, I know many of you have already had to do a presentation or have one coming up. So, what will you wear for this presentation? The black trousers or pencil skirt is foolproof, but let’s face it, everyone will be wearing that. How about taking a chance on an outfit that is a bit more daring yet still appropriate for the occasion? This week’s Fashionista shows us how!

The Fashionista’s outfit is relaxed and laid back, yet put together at the same time. On closer inspection, we notice she is wearing a white button-down shirt tucked into a pair of high-waisted trousers. She tops the look off with a classic blazer, and chooses a simple initial gold necklace and black high heels for an accessory and shoes.

Her loose trousers juxtapose nicely against the structured blazer, giving a look that’s relaxed, but not frumpy. Overall, the trousers are classic with a bit of a twist by featuring a paisley pattern. This takes them up a notch from your basic pair that is commonly worn for class presentations. She also keeps her jewelry simple, which is good because you don’t want to deviate the attention from your presentation. Don’t be afraid to wear something with pattern or color as long as it is not too overpowering.

One Simple Change: If cold weather hits, wear either an oversized coat or a trench coat over your ensemble. It will keep you warm and looking elegant at the same time.
