WHAT TO WEAR: Parent’s Weekend

February 3rd, 2016 at 2:00am

It’s that time of the semester where you clean your room for the only time and have the best meals you’ve had in weeks. That’s right, the parents are coming to town. You’ll have to prove to them that you don’t stay up until 3:00 a.m. writing papers and let laundry sit for four weeks at a time. This means it’s time to tuck away those sweatpants and sneakers and swap them out for more stylish pieces to impress those parents of yours.

This Fashionisto is demonstrating the perfect ensemble for a day with the ‘rents spent shopping, touring the campus, participating in cheesy University events and most importantly, dinner at a nice restaurant. His corduroy pants are the perfect choice for the occasion because they’re much nicer and dressier than a typical pair of jeans, but the skinny fit makes them a bit more casual so that he can wear them around campus without feeling totally overdressed. His white chunky sweater complements the green color of the corduroy pants perfectly, as well as helps dress them down a little. Finally my favorite part of the outfit: his shoes. If you fellas are looking for a way to make a good impression, these shoes are the way to go. The black leather and square-toed shape complement the cords perfectly and make him appear classy and put together. Additionally, the buckles on his shoes make them extremely different from most men’s shoes out there, which demonstrates just how much a unique shoe can really add to any outfit.

One Simple Change: Feeling like you want to dress to impress for class? Swap out those styling shoes for a slightly more casual pair, for example these cute and preppy L.L.Bean boots.
