WHAT TO WEAR: Interviews

June 30th, 2016 at 2:00am

I hope you are all enjoying your summer break so far. When I spotted this Fashionista I knew exactly wear she was going; an interview. Now I am sure most of you have summer jobs but when it comes to getting an internship for this coming fall that is where this What To Wear can help you. Finding cute business casual outfits can be hard sometimes but this Fashionista knows exactly how to dress up. You are most likely super nervous and stressed about your interview already so there is no need to stress about an outfit and I can tell you why.

This look is very professional and cute, which is every Fashionista’s goal when dressing business casual. She took her tailored, printed pants and paired them with a simple cream tank. Since her pants are super busy she did the right thing by pairing them with a simple plain colored top. Also, her tank top is not too revealing and has thick straps so it is definitely appropriate for any interview or business casual workplace.

She kept it very simple by just adding a kate spade new york handbag and since the pants are so busy, jewelry is not really needed. Focus on a key piece and style it with minimum accessories to create a clean and simple professional look.

This Fashionista also went for a simple makeup look with a pink lip and a classic nude heel to match. She could easily change the pants to an appropriate length skirt and add a blazer for another look. She could also wear a long sleeved blouse or a sweater for a cooler day.

There are so many ways to look professional and cute for an interview and the workplace but I think the best advice is to focus on a key piece and buying pieces to mix and match with that. This Fashionista can pair just about anything with these pants, either dressing them up more or she can even wear them as a casual look with a plain tee and flats. Having such a versatile piece in your closest allows endless outfits to be created for these types of occasions. So pick statement pieces that can last through all seasons and can be dressed differently with any trend.

Interviews can be very nerve wracking and stressful but I hope with these few fashion tips that you can create an outfit several different ways for any interview. Even if you don’t get the job at least your outfit was cute and professional.

One Simple Change:  The changes are endless, which is why every Fashionista/o needs one business casual statement piece that can be styled differently every time you go to wear it. This Fashionista could add a simple statement necklace, some bracelets, change the heels and grab a jacket for a nice dinner out on the town. Or she could also throw on some flats and grab a cardigan to play down the look for a casual errand running day.
