WHAT TO WEAR: Girl’s Night Out

Hey all my fellow Fashionistas/os! So, it is that time of the year again to start celebrating everything, whether it is the end of finals, Christmas, New Year’s Eve or anything else that calls for popping bottles and getting down and dirty on the dance floor with the people you love. However, dressing for occasions like these are not the easiest thing to do, especially when it comes to a night out with the ladies. So, here are some of my main tips when it comes to dressing yourself for such an occasion.

First things first, whenever you are going out, you want to make sure you are NOT restricted in any way possible. When you hit the dance floor, there better not be anything limiting you in terms of killer dance moves or just plain comfort. Therefore, I recommended wearing a flowy top with straps, meaning nothing bodycon or tight fitting. You can always rock a cropped top for another occasion, but you do not want to constantly be worrying that your cropped top is riding up way too high, that you are showing too much skin or that your strapless top is falling down. Also, wearing something loose will allow you to consume whatever you want and show off your moves without any problem.

When wearing something loose on the top, you want to balance out that looseness with something tight on the bottom such as a pair of skinny jeans. Especially since it is cold outside, you want to stick to bottoms that will you keep you warm even in the coldest of situations. Also, no need to worry about your tight skirt riding up while you are busting a move and constantly pulling it down when you are wearing a pair of jeans.

Another tip of mine is to wear some jewelry that is really going to pop and help you sparkle under the light. So, I suggest not wearing your finest jewelry, but do wear some statement pieces that are not too heavy or delicate. This way, you will not have to worry that your jewelry is going to break, fall off or get damaged.

Last but not least, you want to ensure that you wear some comfortable shoes that will not drag you down or cause your feet to ache by the end of the night. To prevent your heels from being a buzzkill, I suggest sticking to comfortable ankle booties or heels with a block heel that will provide your feet with more support. This type of heel also puts you at less risk of twisting your ankle or toppling over.

This Fashionista did an excellent job at dressing for her girl’s night out by wearing a very sparkly, sequin silver top and a statement necklace to match the ensemble. She paired this flowy top with a pair of tight, burgundy skinny jeans and a pair of black, leather ankle booties. She finished the look with a leather jacket for warmth and a cute leather cross-body bag.

One Simple Change: In order to make this look appropriate for a celebration with family or friends, change out that sparkly top for a more simple, flowy top (preferably chiffon for a more elegant and mature look) and you are good to go!
