WHAT TO WEAR: Girl's Night Out

June 4th, 2015 at 2:00am

What’s a better way to start your summer than with a girl’s night out? My friends and I love going into town and sitting at our favorite local restaurant patio during the summer. While out and about in South Lyon, I ran into a fellow Central Michigan Chippewa looking darling on our local bar’s patio.

This Fashionista’s apparel is on point for the occasion. Lucy Ciaramitaro, Public Relations junior at CMU, is wearing a printed black romper and a kimono. Rompers are always ideal for summertime fun.  Most rompers are a relaxed fit and pretty forgiving, so you won’t have to worry about how much you ate during dinner. After the sun goes down, it will get a little crisp, so the kimono keeps her ensemble appropriate but hip. Lucy keeps it simple with a black strappy sandal.

For accessories, she is wearing a black sun hat and a vintage necklace. What made her stand out in my eyes was her sun hat. Sitting on the patio, with the sun setting, she modeled the hat to block the sun from her eyes. Her turquoise vintage pendant necklace completes her attire by adding a hint of color.

One Simple Change: If dinner wasn’t enough and you are headed out to enjoy more night life activities, all you need is to substitute the sandals with a pair of wedges. The elevated shoe will bring the outfit into night. After the sun goes down the hat may become a nuisance, so throw on another hair addition. Headbands are fun; wear them the traditional way or mixi it up by wearing one across your forehead. After making those simple changes, the night is yours Fashionistas. Enjoy!\
