WHAT TO WEAR: Errands

There’s a misconception that wearing sweats or any form of stretchy and comfortable articles of clothing is sloppy. Whether it’s that groutfit you’re wearing on a rainy day or your boyfriend’s oversized sweatshirt, you don’t want people to think you’re a mess. But there are always ways to look put together and getting around that “I don’t care” attitude.

This Fashionista was down the shore (sorry, I’m from Philadelphia!) ready to babysit when I spotted her. She’s rocking a pair of dark gray Brandy Melville stretch shorts with ruffled trim at the bottom along with an oversized navy hoodie. In traditional beach fashion, she’s wearing a pair of printed flip flops which are by Tory Burch. Her manicure and pedicure are both white, which perfectly accentuate her summer glow.

Her accessories are modest; she wears a simple silver bracelet on her right wrist and a gold necklace with “love” embossed in the metal. This Fashionista’s bracelet reads “Fifteen,” and she explained to me that for her high school graduation, she and her 15 closest friends got matching bracelets as graduation gifts. Sunglasses are a must in the summer sun, and this Fashionista is rocking a pair of oversized tortoise shell aviators by Ray-Ban.

The great thing about this outfit is that many designers and stores carry very similar pieces of clothing. I own a very similar sweatshirt to this that happens to be from Target!

One Simple Change: Let’s say this Fashionista had an early night babysitting and wanted to meet up with a group of friends afterwards. Ditch the hoodie and swap it for a black or white tank top and a fun kimono. You’ll be ready for a casual night of fun and most likely be the most comfortable out of your friends!
