WHAT TO WEAR: Errands

Oh, Sunday: The national day of doing the errands you put off all weekend but absolutely have to get done by Monday. This week’s style inspiration comes from the streets of New York City. Now, let’s get something straight here: New York is incredible. I mean come on, the endless food options alone win my heart. Food aside, it is a place of beautiful sights, interesting people and endless walking. In all honesty, if I were to be out running errands in the city, I would probably throw on workout clothes and sneakers just to ensure maximum comfort. Hey, at least that way people would just assume I was working out instead of knowing that I am simply not equipped for walking around all day in real clothes… or equipped for working out for that matter.

This Fashionista gets all kinds of props for taking on her Sunday summer tasks with her own style and flare. Yes, errands are usually done in jeans and a T-shirt but that is what makes this outfit stand out—it combines style and ease. This lovely Fashionista is rocking a pair of her mom’s old jeans that she cut and bleached. (Seriously? I cannot make a plain T-shirt into a muscle T-shirt without screwing it up.) Accessory wise, this Fashionista added a statement necklace from Forever 21. She also threw on a pair of worn in boots and topped off this boho look with a colorful hair wrap. Both pieces are from Lucky Brand. This all adds together into a very retro, Brenda Song circa The Sweet Life of Zack and Cody vibe, and I am totally digging every part of it. But this is not about me—what do you all think?

One Simple Change: Celebrate the summertime freedom by meeting up with some friends for brunch. How can you transform this outfit into proper brunch attire, you ask? Swap out the shorts for a maxi skirt, trade the boots for a pair of wedges and voila.
