WHAT TO WEAR: Day to Night

As a recently turned 21-year-old and having also just moved to New York City this summer for an internship, I am quickly learning that after hours usually means going out. Going for a drink after work with coworkers is not simply because we really deserve it, but it is one of the best time for socializing, too. I am so blessed to work in an inspiring environment where everyone is so passionate and dedicated, but it also makes it difficult to get to know one another when we always have our game faces on. Grabbing the other interns and getting to know one another in a much more relaxed environment is a great way to wind down after a long day.

This Fashionista rocks her day look for the office. I love how she matches this girly lace top with these more masculine military style pants. The contrast is very intriguing and it totally works! It is the middle of summer, so who would think pants would be necessary? However, almost every building in New York City is air-conditioned and you have to be prepared, so pants are totally okay.

Personally, I prefer silver jewelry, but I am starting to work on incorporating more mixed metals. I love the gold accents though on this outfit. They are subtle on the gold buttons of her pants but definitely stand out on her adorable platform sandals. She prefers to wear open shoes that have some lift because it keeps her feet from touching dirty city sidewalks. The final touch of this look is her gold watch. It gives it a nice polished business casual look.

One Simple Change: Once the clock turns to six, it’s time to head out! This look is totally transformable for night. Keep the sandals or swap for a pair of killer gold heels. Throw your hair into a care free updo or long ponytail. Finally, ditch the watch and add some fun gold accessories because who needs to keep track of time when you’re trying to have some fun!
