WHAT TO WEAR: Date Night

Ladies, let me hear you if you’re ready to start breaking out those summer sundresses again!  I know I speak on behalf of most summer lovin’ girls when I say there is no occasion where wearing a dress is a bad idea.  Whether you prefer to dress up or dress down, putting on that favorite dress of yours can make it look like you put a lot of effort into your look for a night out, when in reality you just didn’t want to suffer from the summer heat while wearing a tight pair of shorts.  This Fashionista, who looks just dressy enough for her date night, most certainly got this memo.

I want to start by commending this Fashionista for keeping her cover-up chic for her rendez-vous. Most of us (or maybe just me) underestimate how chilly it can get at night, even in the midst of summer, so we just grab whatever summer jacket is in sight whether it goes with the outfit or not.  In order to accommodate for this often-forgotten issue, this Fashionista grabbed a multicolored, knit blanket scarf from Free People that can actually double as both a scarf and a shawl.  In this case, our Fashionista is sporting a loose-fitting ivory sundress as the main piece, which quite honestly is perfect for pairing other neutral tones and small pops of color to an outfit.  The Fashionista keeps this outfit perfectly chic and underwhelming (in the best way) by staying with a neutral tan bag and gray suede booties and tops off her look with delicate gold jewelry that doesn’t compete to be the centerpiece of this outfit.  I’d like to think this Fashionista’s date will be swooning over her when he comes to pick her up!

One Simple Change: Looking for a new outfit to rock at the beginning of the next semester? Just switch up the shoes to a pair of flat sandals to keep this look more casual and off to class you go!
