WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

With the cold temps continually dropping as we trudge through this Midwest winter, Fashionistas alike are prepping their winter wear with their warmest essentials. With all of the layering and bundling up for what seems like the forever-long walk to class, it is sometimes harder to show off our significant style on campus.

This Fashionista relies on her fabulous boots to do the talking in this winter get-up, having the sage green hue in her boots complement her puffer jacket perfectly. The neutrality of her outfit is perfect for a busy but also, freezing day of classes. Her combat boots are both comfortable and fashionable with the perfect plaid print to add some dimension to her cold-weather outfit. The dark hues in the checker and plaid printed panels go perfectly with the dark wash of her denim, making it the pristine pairing that it is. The metallic sheen that covers her boots gives her outfit a one-up when it comes to rainy day fashion, making a cool contrast with the wet concrete that has covered Illinois State’s quad all this week.

When us Fashionistas have to correlate with the frigid temps we sometimes rely on our accessories and footwear to help our outfits tell a story. I am one to heavily rely on my choice of footwear, not only for the fashion purposes but especially when it comes to the cold weather. This Fashionista makes a statement with her unique combat boots that will be sure to resonate her style in any weather.

One Simple Change: Looking to transform your ensemble from day to night?  Switch out your puffer coat for a edgy leather jacket to better fit your Friday nightlife plans.
