WHAT TO WEAR: Class

June 1st, 2015 at 2:00am

It’s hard to believe that a year ago, last summer, I was trekking across Europe without a care in the world. Now as I sit in a classroom daydreaming of days gone by, I can’t help but entertain the hope of being someplace else. Ok, so I am being a “bit” dramatic, but it’s hard to stay focused with all the talk of summer cookouts and late night bonfires. But I digress, if you are anything like me school comes first, however, as college students it is important to find a healthy balance between work and play.

No matter how large a class load you might carry this semester stay focused, and most importantly, stay fashionable. It is extremely easy to wake up and head off to class in a basic tank top, yoga pants and flip flops, but have some fun with your look. After all during the summer semester, the rules change. From May through August the campus clears out, and there is a sense of casual relaxation among students. This individualistic Fashionista shows us that she is ready for a carefree semester with her effortless summer style.

Meeting with a group of peers to discuss global design issues for an upcoming project, this Fashionista shows that she can be both smart and sweet. Her bohemian style peasant blouse, with a dainty Parisian pattern, and soft elegant lace appliqué is naturally blended with a pair of light wash skinny jeans which are slightly rolled for the summer. She plays up her look by adding a pop of color with her trendy Salvia Green Fjallraven Kanken backpack.

One Simple Change: To transition this look from day to night, simply substitute the backpack for a cool, shimmery metallic clutch. To take this look one step further, add a pair of strappy sandals for a fun night out on the town.
