WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

August 26th, 2016 at 2:00am

As my friends and I juggle full-time internships, part-time jobs and intense summer courses, planning a girl’s day unfortunately becomes a struggle. When our unique work and school schedules conclude, we are hit with the reality of move-in dates and class syllabi. Although we may reminisce to past summers of endless pool days and trips to the beach, there are now different summer occasions that are also memorable and appropriate for our maturing routines.

Brunch is an event that perfectly fits into all busy schedules. I am sure we can admit that an 11:00AM seating time is worth waking up and looking your best for. Brunch is an ideal event to mingle with friends, devour into delicious eats, snap Instagram-worthy pictures and rock your trendiest summer apparel and accessories.

I spotted this Fashionista heading out to brunch on a warm summer day. Setting aside her best outfit for this fun activity, she sports a white skater skirt sundress with small gray stripes that hit horizontally at her torso and diagonally at her waist. Not only is this a popular pattern making technique used by many designers, but these stripes are guaranteed to flatter any shape. Whether you enjoy your meal inside an air-conditioned restaurant or on an outdoor patio, it is important to keep comfortable and follow dress code. To keep cool and covered, this Fashionista pairs her pretty sundress with a light wash denim vest to fashionably top off her outfit.

To add onto her stylish look, this Fashionista accessorizes her brunch attire with a grey snakeskin cross-body bag, bangles and cognac platform wedges. Her purse is paired to match with the stripes in her dress as her sandals complement the neutral tones in her outfit. These versatile pieces easily jazz up her look to create a unique outfit perfect for an unforgettable morning with friends or family.

One Simple Change: Heading to your internship after brunch? Transition your dress from cute and casual to office chic. Switch your denim vest for a polished blazer and wedges for flats.
