WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

A summer without seersucker would be no summer at all for this preppy Fashionista. Seersucker fabric is properly worn in the Northern States from Memorial Day to Labor Day because it is made to keep the body cool and the light stripes just scream summer. Traditional seersucker is blue and white striped but this Fashionista opted for a pink and white stripe with adorable grasshoppers scattered throughout the material. This seersucker dress is comfy, light, airy, and is also wrinkle resistant—making it perfect for a lazy brunch with the girlfriends. For those of you who might be confused on a dress being lazy, listen up! Dresses are breathable and comfortable, and they make you look more put together and prettier than wearing sweatpants ever would.

Brunch is casual but it’s still chic. Regular brunch-goers all share a common knowledge that sundresses, skirts, sandals and wedges are exactly what need to be worn for this occasion. Brunch is all about being conservative though so don’t go showing up in a tight dress and stilettos…save that for another time and place. Think about brunch outfits in terms of what would be worn during a graduation party or church service. Wear simple jewelry and make sure your nails are polished and well-kept. I recommend wearing a nude shade like this Fashionista, pale pink or white polish to keep the look clean and classy.

One Simple Change: To take this look from brunch to girl’s night out, put on nude heels or wedges. Switching the shoes will not only add more height but will also give you more confidence as well. There is nothing guys like more than a woman in heels, so put those heels on and work it girl! Enjoy your night with your girls and have fun because without them, who would drink mimosas during brunch with you?
