WHAT TO WEAR: Back to School

Up here in north New Jersey, we’ve been pretty lucky with the winter weather; it’s barely been cold! However, the season’s temperature is starting to seem more familiar and it’s getting cold fast! The campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University is small, you can walk from one side to the other in 15 minutes. That being said, there are no shuttle buses to take you to class, which means you must bundle up in order to survive the walk. This Fashionista made bundling up look great!

This Fashionista chose to wear a thick, black wool coat that is the perfect length. The length of the coat is long enough to keep her upper body from getting drafty, but still short enough that it does not constrict her legs from moving freely and helping her hustle to class! Ankle-length coats are all the rage, and they’re the most convenient when trying to make it to class on time. This Fashionista’s maroon jeans provide the perfect color combination. Personally, maroon and black is one of my favorite combinations. Dark colors do not always pair well with other dark colors, but this duo definitely does! She is also wearing black leather boots which helps the color flow smoothing throughout the outfit. The boots have buckle studs on them, giving this look some texture and character.

To accessorize while also still staying warm, this Fashionista wore a black floppy beanie and gray fingerless gloves with the option to make them mittens. The mittens gave the look a pop of color and stand out against the black and maroon theme that she is flaunting. She is also wearing a silver necklace that provides a pop of shine against this matte outfit and contrasts the mittens well!

One Simple Change: Swapping out the black leather boots for a pair of trendy snow boots would really help you stay warm throughout winter; especially once the snowflakes start to fall!
