Here’s What Sorority Women Across The Country Are Wearing Right Now

In need of some outfit inspiration for this semester? You’re in luck. College Fashionista spoke to 10 sorority women from across the country about what they’re wearing this season and how they’re styling their favorite pieces. From Thomas Jefferson University in Pennsylvania, to UCLA in California and quite a few places in between, CF has you covered regardless of where you go to school, and what your campus looks like right now.

Madysen Clarke, University of Kentucky

Major: Communication & Media Studies

Graduation Year: 2023

Go-to Class Outfit: For class, Maddy loves to keep her style comfortable yet fun. She often opts for patterned sweaters, sweatshirts, or jackets, and she can never leave the house without throwing on a trucker hat or headband for an added accessory, she says.

Favorite Going Out Look: When she goes out with friends, Maddy usually almost always wear her black leather pants paired with a bright, colored corset top. She also loves mini skirts and knee-high boots when she’s going for a more dressed-up and elevated look.

Sorority Event Style: For her sorority formals, Maddy always swears by dresses from Beginning Boutique or Lulus. She loves how unique their pieces can be.

Ella Iram, Missouri State University

Major: Biology

Graduation Year: 2025

Go-to Class Outfit: Ella is all about the comfy look for class. To beat her school’s chilly temperatures, she often layers cozy, oversized crewnecks with puffer jackets. She pairs everything with flared leggings for a super comfortable, yet cute look.

Favorite Going Out Look: For nights out, Ella always opts for something leather whether it’s a jacket, pants or a skirt. She says these items are a staple in her closet. They are extremely versatile and pair well with both bright and neutral colors. Throw on something leather with a simple black bodysuit, even, and the perfect going out look is complete!

Sorority Event Style: When it comes to sorority events, chapter president, Ella, loves using formals to showcase the “more extra part” of her style that she doesn’t get to wear all the time. She experiments with bright, bold colors, and different materials like tulle, fringe, satin, ruffles, and feathers. She finishes off her formal looks with a slicked back ponytail for an extra sleek look.

Zarielle Anthony, The College of William & Mary

Major: Kinesiology Public Health

Graduation Year: 2023

Go-to Class Outfit: When she goes to class, Zarielle dresses both comfy and cute, she says. She likes wearing outfits that are unique from what other students typically wear to class. “I’m in a good mood when I’m dressed nicely and that helps me to enjoy class more,” Zarielle says.

Favorite Going Out Look: When Zarielle goes out for the night, her style is eye catching and playful. She loves to incorporate bright, fun colors into every outfit she wear. “Details are everything when I go out!” she says.

Sorority Event Style: Zarielle’s go-to outfit for events like chapter meetings or grabbing food with her sorority will always incorporate Greek life merch or accessories in any form. She loves to wear her chapter’s pink and green colors with cute accessories that stand out and grab attention, she says.

Ada Chung, University of California Los Angeles

Major: Political Science

Graduation Year: 2023

Go-to Class Outfit: Ada’s go-to class look this semester is a chunky sweater with black trousers. She likes being comfortable yet chic for class and this combo never fails her, she says.

Favorite Going Out Look: Ada always wears leather pants and boots when she goes out, especially during the winter because it keeps her nice and warm, she says. She usually pairs her pants with a cute crop top or graphic tee.

Sorority Event Style: Ada’s favorite thing to wear for any kind of sorority event is just a cute little dress, she says. When it comes to formals, she especially loves shopping pieces from For Love and Lemons and Oh Polly.

Miranda Morrone, James Madison University

Major: Creative Advertising

Graduation Year: 2023

Go-to Class Outfit: Miranda loves a “clean girl aesthetic” outfit when it comes to what she’s wearing to class. This semester, she’s sporting matching sweat sets, matching workout sets, leggings, zip-ups and sweaters. Her shoe choices range from Birkenstock Bostons to Reebok or New Balance sneakers. She often pairs her looks with a trucker hat or merch from her sorority.

Favorite Going Out Look: Growing up outside of New York City, Miranda has always been inspired by urban fashion. For a night look, she opts for a simple, all black (or mostly black) outfit with a leather shacket, cargo pants, and booties or sneakers. For a winter day vibe, she wears a mini skirt with black stockings, chunky black boots, a thick sweater, and a chunky headband. Her style is reminiscent of “the modern, edgier, Serena Van Der Woodson,” she says.

Sorority Event Style: For casual sorority activities like chapter or philanthropy and sisterhood events, you’ll always find Miranda in a matching sorority set. Her recent favorite is a Boys Lie inspired tank top and sweat shorts with a pair of sneakers. She always elevates her comfortable looks with a slicked back ponytail or bun, or a claw clip.

Kayla Mugweru, The University of North Texas

Major: Interior Design

Graduation Year: 2026

Go-to Class Outfit: When it comes to class, Kayla goes comfy, cute, and stylish, she says. “I am 100% an athleisure girl,” Kayla says. She thinks you can never go wrong with flare leggings, a bold colorful top, a matching headband or claw clip, and gold jewelry! 

Favorite Going Out Look: Kayla says the best nights out are her college night Thursdays at a country themed bar. She likes to “be a cutesy Texas girl” when she goes out, she says. To achieve that look, she always styles her white knee-high boots. “They elevate every single look!” Kayla says.

Sorority Event Style: Kayla’s favorite sorority event to dress up for is pref round, the final round of recruitment. For this, she styles a bold solid colored cocktail length dress that complements her skin tone, she says. She pairs the dress with some statement shoes — patterned, feathered, glittery — and her go-to jewelry.

Tumi Adeyoju, University of Houston

Major: Public Health

Graduation Year: 2024

Go-to Class Outfit: Tumi’s favorite class styles usually involve a leggings set or a basic tee with cargo pants. She typically pairs her outfits with either a flannel or a jean jacket, along with a pair of Converse to complete the look.

Favorite Going Out Look: Tumi describes her going-out style as, “classy chic meets E-girl.” She is drawn towards sleek, minimal colors and statement, gold accessories. Her favorite outfit combo: a corset and a black oversized blazer. 

Sorority Event Style: When it comes to formal chapter events, Tumi’s staple piece is a comfortable yet chic royal blue corset. She pairs this piece with black or royal blue dress pants. Tumi tops off every sorority event look with a signature pearl necklace.

Ella Laughmiller, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

Major: Marketing & Communications

Graduation Year: 2025

Go-to Class Outfit: Recently, Ella has been choosing cargos and baggy jeans, which she styles with either a graphic baby tee or simple long sleeve. If it’s cold out, she adds an oversized leather jacket or blazer, and her UGGs or Dr. Martens. She always finishes off her look with some jewelry and bows in her hair.

Favorite Going Out Look: For a night on the town, Ella loves skirts of every kind — especially mini skirts when it comes to nighttime looks. She always pairs them with large jackets for an added layer of style and warmth. Whether she’s styling bows, belts, or jewelry, accessories are a key part of Ella’s looks always.

Sorority Event Style: Regardless of what kind of event she’s attending, Ella always stays true to her own personal style. Some of her favorite things to wear are nice trousers with vests, long skirts, or slip dresses with blazers.

Angelina Bojarski, Thomas Jefferson University

Major: Fashion Merchandising & Management

Graduation Year: 2024

Go-to Class Outfit: Angelina’s go-to class look is something stylish but also comfortable. She likes to add a lot of accessories to make any outfit stand out a little extra. Something she always gravitates toward is a pair of classic jeans and a sweater.

Favorite Going Out Look: When Angelina goes out she like to wear an outfit that makes her feel confident. She usually goes for crop tops and jeans or leather pants. It all depends on where she’s going and what she’s doing, she says.  

Sorority Event Style: Angelina’s go-to outfit for a formal chapter meeting is a leather blazer, turtleneck, and flowing business pants. For a dress down chapter, she likes to be comfortable so she often sports sweatpants and a sweatshirt. For philanthropy events, she likes to look well-dressed as she is representing her sorority.

Tunmise Ogungbesan, University of Chicago

Major: Political Science

Graduation Year: 2024

Go-to Class Outfit: Tunmise’s go-to class look is something comfortable, warm, and stylish. She goes to school in Chicago and walks around a lot, so she is a big fan of a cute crewneck and leather pants, she says.

Favorite Going Out Look: Tunmise loves bright colors when she’s going out. She wears something bright and breathable. “After all, no going-out outfit is good if you can’t dance in it,” she says.

Sorority Event Style: Tunmise loves expressing her personal style at her chapter’s formals. She likes dressing up in fun dresses like the ones below.
