The Louis Vuitton fall 2014 collection was definitely a favorite runway show of mine. The show incorporated an array of colors and a surplus of textures. The show also brought together two of my favorite things: leather pants and turtlenecks. I have a secret obsession with leather pants, but they used to intimidate me. I love how versatile they can be. You can dress them in an edgy way with a black T-shirt and combat boots, or you can give them a soft and delicate vibe with a sweater and oxfords.
Today was the day. I snatched the pair I kept hidden on one end of my closet and found myself more ecstatic than intimidated. At first, I wanted to go for more of a subtle style and paired them with a white turtleneck sweater, but then I rediscovered this vintage denim vest I purchased a few years ago and couldn’t resist throwing it on. To complete the overall look, I slipped on these black lace-up heeled sandals that were obviously a Kylie Jenner inspired purchase.
I would say this overall look is a cross between edgy and subtle. This runway show inspired me to style leather pants anyway I see fit. It’s nice to look to fashion shows for inspiration, but you have to put your own twist on outfits to stay true to your style! I’ll probably be wearing these pants more often. I would definitely like to purchase some colored leather pants in bright blue or dark green. Nothing says confidence more like a pair of leather pants!
