STYLE GURU STYLE: Wrapped Up In Style

The couture shows have commenced in Paris and the fall 2015 ready-to-wear ones are underway. My eye could not help but catch the See by Chloé show as it perfectly embodied the Chloé Parisian. From my own experience of spending a semester in the fashionable city, I was more than pleased to see what See by Chloé had captured on the runway and how it shared the essence of the Parisian, and more closely the Parisian student, or shall I say, Fashionista.

The show opened strong, as look one was an ensemble I could easily see myself wearing on a day-to-day basis. Unfortunately, since I do not have the runway look readily accessible in my closet, and it is quite cold here in Wisconsin, I chose to change it up with camel poncho, skirt and boot pairing to emulate a more appropriate Wisconsin-chic look.

The cape wrap I am wearing is one that I had stumbled upon at a student organization trunk show and simply could not leave without. Since adding the piece to my closet, it has proved very versatile, as I have paired it with skirts, shorts, jeans and really anything that I have felt necessary. For this particular look, I have decided to pair my cape wrap with a medium wash jean and an elongated white collared shirt layered with a cropped black shirt. Nothing polishes off a look better than a pointed black heel. The ones I am wearing add some flare with a strap going through the middle and two ankle straps (which are not visible because of the jeans). I opted for a navy bag, rather than black because of the nature of the jeans and the light detailing on the cape wrap itself.

My outfit was inspired by the runway look and is a great example of how geography and weather play a large role in dressing. The overall ensemble plays with the fun and adaptable cape wrap, while remaining practical!

Get My Look: 1. A cape wrap. 2. Elongated collared shirt. 3. Black heels.
