STYLE GURU STYLE: Winter Wonderland

The temperatures are rapidly dropping, snow is falling, and my hot chocolate is ready! As the snow sweeps across the country comfy sweaters, fleece leggings, and sparkly accessories are making their way out of our drawers and closets.

I, like many others, have a love-hate relationship with the winter season. I absolutely love a good snowfall because in the morning it is truly a winter wonderland. But, on the other hand, the negative degree temperatures are not my favorite in the slightest. When I get ready in the morning I dread going out into the freezing cold so I am quick to throw on the fuzziest and warmest sweater I own. Then, when I finally get to class, I regret everything as I sit there in my chair sweating like a pig.

I found this sleeveless sweater at Aerie, and let me tell you it is a lifesaver! It’s the perfect mix of cozy and cool so I can wear a warm fuzzy sweater without paying for it later. As you can tell, I like neutral colors so I kept it basic with black leggings and nude booties. I find myself wearing these nude booties all the time because they are comfortable and go with pretty much everything! I loved them so much I also purchased them in a chocolate brown color.

Even though I keep it basic most of the time, I usually jazz up my outfits with a little sparkle. The statement necklace I’m wearing is a mix of silver and gold and I think it really complements the sweater. The clutch is also a mix of silver and gold, and has a beautiful gold chain that allows it to be worn across the body that I love! To top everything off, I added a little silver watch.

Let’s face it—winter can suck, but the winter wonderland scenery and cozy sweaters make the freezing temperatures not so bad!
