STYLE GURU STYLE: Winter Break

The weather in Pittsburgh, to me, is all over the place. We go from 20 degrees and snow to 60 degrees and warm. So for this weather I guess you can say I have a very wide range of clothing choices. Some days it’s boots and a warm winter coat followed by gloves and a hat. Other days I can wear a light jacket with jeans and some ankle boots. You have to be prepared for anything around here.

My main go-to look can be described as girly and feminine. I love florals, lace, and pastel colors. Of course, I am always down to try a new style that I like, from a runway show or something I saw in a magazine. Designers such as Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Paolo Sebastian and Valentino are major inspirations, especially when it comes down to their dresses.

In my first outfit that I chose, I wanted to showcase my love of all things feminine with a floral duster kimono, a plain short sleeve shirt, jeans, and some black boots. I accessorized the look with a necklace and a simple bracelet with a snake motif on it. I wanted to channel a bit of what I find inspirational into what I wear, but still keep my own personal style.

My hair and makeup for this look are simple since I tried not to go over the top. I kept my hair natural and added a bold lip so the focus is on my outfit instead of my makeup. This outfit can be styled with a bun too.
