STYLE GURU STYLE: That '70s Fringe

June 25th, 2015 at 2:00am

Fringe is back and it’s a huge hit! I love that this trend is resurfacing from the ‘70s and I get a chance to live in the decade. My look was inspired by the Emilio Pucci spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. This collection takes you back in time through the use of fringe, gossamer goddess gowns and hippie beading. I was excited to get this free flowing, artsy trend into my closet this season.

For my recreation, I found this tassel fringe knit sweater on sale at Hollister. I was surprised to find an item like this in there but I got lucky! The sweater is light and could be worn in multiple seasons. The fringe on the sleeves is a playful placement and adds a swish to the outfit. I paired it with a classic, high-rise skinny jean from American Eagle Outfitters. The sweater hits right below my waist, so I like that the high-wasted jeans complement its length.

To finish off my look, I chose an military green, wool floppy brim fedora that I found at Forever 21. Hats are a popular accessory this summer and this one adds a complementary color into the outfit. I also layered two gold feather necklaces for accessorizing. After cuffing my jeans, I finished the look with a gray open toe bootie.

I love finding pieces in my wardrobe and coming up with a flirty and bold style. Don’t be afraid to use inspiration from other collections to create your own look!
