STYLE GURU STYLE: Taking Runway Blue To Class

As I was contemplating on what I wanted to share with you fashion junkies this week, I took a scroll over on Style.com. This was best decision for planning this post so far. Armani Prive’s spring 2015 couture collection gave us a great collection filled with chromatic but soft fabrics and feminine silhouettes. This collection’s gorgeous couture is going to give Fashionistas style inspiration all year long. Going through the looks one by one, you’ll notice how the gorgeous pieces go from daytime couture—long single buttoned jackets and slacks—to chic gowns. The pieces that appear later in the collection are stitched out of silk fabrics and perfectly molded pleats. When I discovered this, I found just the inspiration I needed to deliver something simplistic and chic to my readers.

In my look, I took inspiration from the middle and end of the runway show. The lovely pleats that make an appearance in Look #27 and the bold blue hues in the last 10 looks are what really stood out to me. I love rich color. Having darker skin, I don’t like to wear colors that don’t enrich it. So I chose to put both of these beautiful trends—rich blue hues and pleats—together and make a look that I can wear on and off campus. This gorgeous top that I dug out of the ruble in my wardrobe let me do just that. Pairing it with a simple pair of skinny jeans made the top a gorgeous focal point in this outfit. I always have to add some glam to an outfit with my favorite accessories, shoes and huge earrings. I slipped on my favorite wine colored closed toe wedges to layer perfectly with the jeans. Adding the ruby red drop earrings and spiked bracelet let me go even bolder with an elegant touch.

Get My Look: 1. A pleated top with a bold hue. 2. Your favorite dark-washed skinny jeans. 3. An extreme wedge. 4. Accessories just for the icing on the cake.
